This Gleason Ring & Pinion Gear Set came out of an ARCA Race Car
running TriboDyn Patented 75W-90 Full Synthetic Gear Oil in the
rear end, during an ARCA Racing Series Nationwide 200-mile race in
December, 2014.
During one of the tire changes during the race, when the car was
lowered back down after changing tires, the oil line to the rear end
was cut, and lost its gear oil out of the rear end during the race. We
don’t know which tire change during the race when the oil line was
cut, we do know that the last tire change was 10-15 Laps before the
end of the race and the car finished the race.
In these pictures, you can see a dark area on each of the ring &
pinion gears where the TriboDyn formed a protective ceramic
lubricating film on the surface, keeping the gears alive and from
burning up. When a metallurgist examined these gear parts, he
confirmed that the gears were not damaged and that a dry
lubricating film did in fact form on the surface of the gears.
This was a real-life situation showing TriboDyn patented coating
technology working, this car finished the race, and the parts were
saved because it was running TriboDyn Gear Oil.
